Louis Ripberger began his career in 1979 as a Quality Control Engineer with Reeder & Kline Machine Company. Here he developed standardized systems for inspection documentation, process documentation, and customer specifications and blueprints, as well as standardizing the receiving inspection function. He then worked as a Program Manager and Quality Control Engineer for Bendix/Engineering Research where he was responsible for implementation of quality systems for Harpoon Missile munitions. As Quality Assurance Manager for Mallory Capacitor he developed a training program for production personnel on implementation and application of SPC and upgraded the Quality Control function of data gathering, analysis and dissemination for a four facility manufacturing system. With IIT Research Institution/Automation Technology he was a Quality/Productivity Consultant where he developed LOTUS-based software and support documentation marketed by IITRI; developed a seminar for automating SPC utilizing computer software and hardware; and developed and presented seminar titled "TQM" for private sector service industries. Louis then began his own consulting firm where he provides training and consulting support to businesses implementing quality and productivity strategies. He trains upper management, middle management and line personnel for manufacturing and service functions. He has certified Motorola University instructors in SPC, DFM and DOE courses in the United States, Singapore, Indonesia, Korea and China. He is also certified as a Ford Motor Company instructor and as a Minitab Software instructor.
