Experience:
Peter Davis has over 35 years' experience helping manufacturers achieve world-class quality, reduced cycle time, and lower operating costs. Currently, Peter implements Six Sigma® quality programs; troubleshoots production problems; and develops and delivers training and corporate education programs for Motorola clients. His career began in Production Planning and Control with Associated Electrical Industries in the U.K. and, six years later, with Texas Instruments Ltd. In 1967, he emigrated to the U.S. to work for General Dynamics Electronics. In 1968, he joined Eastman Kodak Company as a Manufacturing Engineer, where he was a member of the design team that developed the Pocket Instamatic family of cameras. Peter then joined Texas Instruments, Inc. as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. Over the next 20 years, he held positions as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Producibility Engineer, Service Manager, Manufacturing Department Manager, European Coordinator, and Program Manager. During this period, he managed a manufacturing group that reduced manufacturing defects 75%, lowered inventory by 30%, and decreased labor content by 36% He also reorganized a new calculator program planned for production in Italy and coordinated manufacturing operations between U.S., France, and Italy. In 1992, he became a certified Six Sigma® Instructor and conducted classes for six divisions within the company.
