Project Management - Next Step

In order to fully implement Project Management concepts into an organization, a three-step process is highly recommended.

This involves a telephone conference call with the organization interested in implementing Project Management using a highly trained and experienced MASET Senior Consultant. This would be an approximate one-hour telephone consultation allowing the MASET Senior Consultant to get a full understanding of the organization.

Is a Senior Management session where the first day covers an overview of Project Management and the responsibilities of senior managers in defining an environment tailored to successful projects. During this overview, everyone would learn the basics of Project Management, the responsibilities of each level of management in the Project Management environment, and the duties that would be performed by each one. At the end of the first day the MASET Senior Consultant would facilitate a discussion to determine if there is a desire to move forward and where and how to apply Project Management to the organization. Step Three:

Assuming there is a positive result, the second day of this intervention would involve a much smaller group from the organization working with the MASET Senior Consultant to analyze and identify the gaps between the "Should-Be" state and the "As-Is" state. Following the analysis of the gaps, a detailed proposal and project implementation plan would be developed. This implementation plan would then receive sign-off by the management of the organization. A Project Manager using the tools that the rest of the organization will learn would then run the implementation of the Project Management philosophy. In this way there would always be a model to look at and learn from as the implementation proceeds.
