DESCRIPTION:
This workshop is designed to provide project teams and individuals with the knowledge and skills to execute a project successfully in support of the organization's business needs. Participants should bring a project outline or proposal to the hands-on workshop
OBJECTIVES:
- Describe the role and responsibilities of a project leader, sponsor, and team members.
- Establish team ground rules in the four areas of planning, tracking, practices, and relationships.
- Describe the process steps for project planning.
- Begin to develop your own project plan.
- Draw a Flexibility Matrix and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) as based on the specific project selected in the course.
- Sketch out a schedule and Gantt chart for project.
- Determine a Risk Management plan for the project.
- Describe the methodology for monitoring a project to schedule.
- Close out procedure and lessons learned
AUDIENCE:
Anyone on a project team and others who want or need an understanding of project management.
PREREQUISITES:
Complete project teams or four smaller teams should attend the session with their project information
EXPECTED RESULTS:
- A good start at establishing the project teams schedule.
- Attainment of the organization's Quality, Cycle-Time, and/or Cost Reduction Goals
