DESCRIPTION:
Everyone experiences conflict at work and at home some time during their life. Differences of opinion, belief system, and personality style enhance the likelihood of disagreement and conflict. This course emphasizes a view of conflict as a problem to be solved rather than a battle to be won. Participants will learn and practice methods for identifying conflict, diffusing issues, and problem solving effectively. Participants will be able to identify their own personal approach to conflict and identify strategies for a more effective approach.
OBJECTIVES:
At the end of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Understand the underlying sources of conflict
- Recognize their own personal conflict style
- Utilize a 5-step approach to diffusing conflict
- Recognize pitfalls to avoid when dealing with conflict
AUDIENCE:
Anyone who needs to improve their ability to manage conflict
